Ustream’s Live Mobilizer Gives Bands And Brands Live Streaming iPhone Apps

Popular live video platform Ustream is adding a new product to its repertoire today: an iPhone application platform called Ustream Live Mobilizer that offers brands, celebrities, and bands a customizable iPhone application that features Ustream’s live steaming capabilities. Each Mobilizer app is branded to the artist’s specifications (in other words, they don’t look like generic cookie cutter apps). The biggest feature here is support for watching an artist’s live video feed through Ustream, but the app also includes support for sharing to sites like Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube. It also has Ustream’s ‘Social Stream’ feature, which lets you submit questions to the artist during a live stream and syndicate it out to other social networks. To monetize, artists can sell songs, tickets, and merchandise directly through the application (they can also elect to make the application itself a premium app on the App Store).

Alice in Wonderland Live Stream Attracts 400,000 Viewers

Alice in Wonderland isn’t as popular as a Tiger Woods confession, it seems. MySpace hosted a live stream for the movie last night, with streaming video partner Ustream counting almost 400,000 views over the evening. Those are strong numbers … if it weren’t for the easy comparable of Tiger Wood’s live stream , which earlier that day attracted 638,000 views over its 15 minute run. The “ultimate fan event” is the latest in a series of star-studded broadcasts hosted by MySpace — previous live streams included Avatar and New Moon events, plus a live stream from the GRAMMYs red carpet. It’s also the latest to be organized via RSVPs submitted to Social Plan , an events app within MySpace

It’s Friday night, so before you shamble out to make copious mistakes at the clubs, you can brush up on your dance skills by catching the premiere of the new MTV flick, Turn the Beat Around , via Facebook and Ustream. More and more, social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and YouTube are becoming entertainment portals for live and exclusive content. 50 Cent premiered his film Before I Self Destruct to an audience of 255,000 via Ustream, MySpace showcased the Twilight Saga: New Moon red carpet event (which garnered an audience of three million) and, today, Ustream live-streamed Tiger Woods’s press conference , drawing 683,000 viewers. MTV’s Facebook/Ustream collaboration is just another example of such a partnership. Tiger Woods Press Conference Draws 683,000 Views on Ustream

The web took a collective 15-minute pause this morning as Tiger Woods made his first public statement since becoming engulfed in scandal back in November. Ustream is the first in with numbers from the event, as it tells us that its live stream drew 683,000 views. 8 Social Media Questions With NFL Stars Matthew Stafford and Darrelle Revis

When the clock runs out on Super Bowl XLIV tomorrow, the Gatorade that gets dumped on the winning coach’s head will be one of three new sports drinks that the beverage company has debuted in Miami over the past week, the culmination of a marketing blitz that has made heavy use of social media and some of football’s biggest stars. On Friday, I had a chance to talk with two of the athletes involved – Matthew Stafford, last year’s #1 pick and quarterback of the Detroit Lions, and Darrelle Revis, the Pro Bowl cornerback of the New York Jets. The two had just completed 30-minute sessions on Ustream (and via Facebook ), where they answered questions live from fans while doing performance testing on specially-equipped exercise bikes.
