“Photo Memories” Coming to Facebook Places?
While checking into a Facebook Places location recently, one Mashable reader noticed a new tab: Photo Memories. We’ve been unable to duplicate the same tab ourselves, which means Facebook may be testing this feature with a small number of users first before committing to a larger roll-out. But this offering is consistent with how Facebook has presented its newest feature. At its launch , Facebook’s Vice President of Product, Chris Cox, described Places as a digital repository for all your location-based memories. StumbleUpon Comes to the iPhone and Android
Content discovery and recommendation engine StumbleUpon is bringing its “best of the web” finds to mobile devices with new iPhone and Android applications. The web version, which enables its userbase of nearly 11 million members to “stumble” across content that other users have recommended, is being tailored for mobile by featuring a “best for mobile stumbling.” This includes photos, Flickr , YouTube and news, making the discovery experience more friendly for the mobile screen and connections. Below that are also the topics that users have indicated an interest in, as well as options to view favorites and recommendations from other users they’re following. The applications replicate the core experience of StumbleUpon on the web, featuring a prominent “Start Stumbling” button that links to a piece of content that users can either give a thumbs up or a thumbs down to, alongside likes, reviews and sharing options.

Publishers are clamoring to get their magazine titles onto Apple’s iPad , but many may be facing a new challenge: photographers. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Time Inc. has been forced to delay the release of its People magazine iPad app, in part because of disputes with photo agencies over licensing agreements as they pertain to the iPad. Time Inc. has already released iPad variants of its Time, Fortune and Sports Illustrated titles, and had hoped to launch People earlier this month
Flickr Rolls Out Photo Overhaul to All Users
After three weeks of testing, Flickr is rolling out its massively redesigned photo pages to all of its users. The redesign overhaul focuses three key aspects of the photo page: the navigation, the context behind photos and the size of photos themselves.
