Microsoft’s Zune HD 64 starts sliding out, unboxing proves the bump in capacity
Microsoft's extra capacious Zune HD just went on sale last week, and already orders are hitting the doorsteps of eager music lovers. A tipster with a commendable level of kindness dropped us a gallery's worth of unboxing photos, and as you'd expect, nary a thing has changed on the outside. On the inside , however, things are downright zany. Zany, we say! Have a look below if you're curious, and be sure to let us know in comments if / when your own Zune HD 64 arrives.

Think to start selling City electric vehicle in New York, other locales this year
Talk about a revival story. Recently saved from the brink of disaster , Think Electric is back in a big way. Fittingly announced around the New York Auto Show, the company has revealed that it will begin selling its Think City -- one of the planet's first highway-capable electric vehicles, it'll have you know! -- in New York and "other select cities" later on in 2010. Think's currently working in conjunction with the US Department of Energy's local Clean Cities chapters to make it happen in the Big Apple, but exact details (you know, like an on sale date and MSRPs) are nowhere to be found. Considering this company's position just six months ago, though, we'll take whatever progress we can get

iPad pre-order is go — will you buy one?
After years of rumor and speculation, Apple's now taking orders for its iPad tablet. And now that cash money is involved we'll finally see if Apple has a success on its hands by filling the void between smartphones and netbooks/laptops -- something Microsoft and its hoard of vendors just haven't been able to muster. Today's order is delivered on April 3rd (in the US) for free and orders are limited to two per customer. But rather than wait for analysts and Apple's financial reports to tell the tale, let's get a jump on things with an informal poll: are you ordering the iPad? View Poll iPad pre-order is go -- will you buy one?

MSI’s Wind U160 netbook up for grabs in the US
Got a hankering for Pine Trail? We attest to a certain weakness ourselves, and now MSI's Wind U160 netbook is on sale for $380 to fulfill your Atom N450 snacking needs. We were intrigued by the little laptop when we played with it back at CES, particularly if its standard 6-cell battery hump can really produce the quoted 14 hours of life. For whatever reason Newegg and Buy.com are showing now-shipping right now, while Amazon's lagging with pre-orders only at this point, but we're sure you'll make the right retail choice, whatever happens. MSI's Wind U160 netbook up for grabs in the US originally appeared on Engadget on Sun, 07 Mar 2010 05:26:00 EST.

HTC Desire listed for €419 at Amazon’s German portal
Curious as to what HTC will be charging for its Sense-enabled Desire ? If Amazon's German portal is to be believed, it'll go for a cool €419 ($572). Of course, the site doesn't give any indication as to when it'll actually ship to those that order, but it is clear that Amazon is doing the selling and not some third-party merchant.

Lumiotec starts selling OLED lighting development kits, but not for a song
There's probably nothing wrong with the existing incandescent setup that's lighting your abode as we speak, but if you've been itching to do something -- how do you say? -- different , Lumiotec needs to have a word with you. The Japanese outfit is now selling OLED lighting development kits, which are perfect for DIYers looking for light-up tiles to create a nightclub in their basement. We're pretty sure you could think of other things to do with the

Motorola Milestone now available on Telus, AT&T*
Two days earlier than expected , Motorola's Milestone has become available to the public via Telus Mobility. For Canadians, that means that you can wrap your palms around one of the sexiest Android devices out for as low as $199.99 on a 3-year contract, while it'll set you back $499.99 with a 2-year deal, $549.99 with a 1-year agreement or $599.99 outright. Americans -- you should pay close attention that to last figure. A half dozen Benjamins (not including losses in currency conversion and the trip to go get one) will land you what's essentially a 3G-enabled Droid for AT&T's network. You know you need an excuse to go see the Yanks take the ice against the Canucks on Sunday, so you might as well snap up your dream phone before heading back from Vancouver.

Bliptronic 5000 synthesizer: it’s like a Tenori-On, but affordable
Yamaha's Tenori-On may be swank, and the slightly more affordable ' Orange ' version may be attainable for the middle-class, but we've been waiting far too long for an el cheapo version. Thanks to ThinkGeek , that wait has finally ended, and all of our most intense and outlandish dreams are now a reality. The Bliptronics 5000 LED Synthesizer is, for all intents and purposes, a cheapened and less-featured version of the aforesaid Yamaha, capable of spitting out 8-bit bleeps and bloops at varying tempos based on what buttons you have toggled. And look, for $49.99, it's tough to complain. Hop on past the break for a video demonstration, and feel free to go ahead and bust that plastic out while you're at it -- it's not like you haven't already taken it for quite the ride today

Palm Pre slips to $80 on contract, makes the Pixi that much less attractive
Man, the Pixi has a tough life. For starters, it launches at a price point that simply makes no sense when you consider that the Pre could be had for the exact same price via third-party channels. Next, Palm's second-ever webOS device falls to just $25 on contract , making it worth a glance once more. Nary two days later, Amazon has chopped the price of the Pre to just $79.99 with a 2-year contract, and to boot the $36 activation fee is being waived.
