The Average YouTube User Watched 100 Videos in May [STATS]
May was a bang-up month for YouTube, according to data released today by the comScore Video Metrix service . Having for the first time achieved the milestone of 100 videos watched per user, the video-sharing site reached an all-time high of 14.6 billion videos viewed in May. Overall, video viewership was on the upswing — in April , data showed that 178 million U.S.

Motorola boosts Milestone XT720 spec with 720MHz CPU and 512MB RAM
Some of you weren't too pleased to see Motorola's new Milestone hitting Europe with just 256MB of memory and a 550MHz processor and it seems like Moto has listened. We're sure the XT720 would've done just fine running Android 2.1 with its previous spec, but we're hardly going to begrudge a free upgrade. The TI OMAP3440 is now running at 720MHz -- something Motorola had told us the phone was always capable of, though the company had initially opted to downclock away from it, presumably in an effort to extend battery life. RAM gets a healthy doubling to 512MB, bringing the Milestone XT720 more in line with its "premium multimedia" boast, while the launch date seems to remain unaltered: later this month for Europe and a big fat question mark for the USA. [Thanks, Thomas F] Motorola boosts Milestone XT720 spec with 720MHz CPU and 512MB RAM originally appeared on Engadget on Thu, 10 Jun 2010 17:07:00 EDT

Twitter: 15 Billion Tweets and Counting [PIC]
Twitter has surpassed 15 billion tweets less than three months after it broke the 10 billion count . The above tweet , sent minutes ago from @EGRK , is the 15 billionth tweet sent on the popular microblogging service. It is yet another milestone for the maturing company. Tweet #15,000,000,000 is also proof that Twitter’s growth is accelerating.

Game Gripper review
We love an innovative fix to a problem, and so were immediately smitten by the Game Gripper when we saw it in action . It's a little keypad that slaps on over the keyboard of your Motorola Droid or Milestone , turning it into what looked like perhaps the most perfect blend of smartphone and portable gaming machine we'd ever seen. (Sorry, N-Gage .) Naturally we had to try it, and the Gripper's creator, Hyrum Fairbanks, was kind enough to send us one to test -- even customized to match the Engadget Mobile color scheme. Is it worth the measly $15 he's charging for the thing, and is it good enough to execute a hadouken? Read on through to find out

The Rise of Foursquare in Numbers [STATS]
Yesterday, Foursquare turned one . You read that right: The mobile social network that made its splash at SXSW 2009 and has tremendous buzz is just 366 days old. Despite that short amount of time, Foursquare has more than half a million users, 1.4 million venues and 15.5 million checkins, and it’s still growing. Experian Hitwise decided to use this milestone to analyze Foursquare’s growth

Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s “Telephone” Premieres on Vevo [VIDEO]
Fresh off having the most popular music video in YouTube/Vevo’s history (“Bad Romance” with 140 million views and counting), Lady Gaga’s latest – “Telephone” – featuring Beyonce, has made its debut on the Web. The video is choc-full-o Lady Gaga shock value, and at more than 9 minutes in length, could probably classify as a short film. Dating site PlentyOfFish somehow managed to get prominent placement (fast forward to 4:27 if you’d rather skip the rest of it). Early indications are that “Telephone” will be every bit as popular as recent Gaga hits, with the song, its participants, and even a string from its URL already dominating trending topics on Twitter ahead of its official premiere on E! later this evening. It also briefly took Vevo — YouTube and the record labels new music video website — offline.
