Go On Your Own “Eat Pray Love” Journey With SCVNGR

SCVNGR — the location-based mobile app that takes a really creative approach to the space — is teaming up with Columbia Pictures to help promote the upcoming film, Eat Pray Love. The movie, which stars Julia Roberts, is about a woman who goes on a yearlong sabbatical to find herself. First she explores the pleasure of food in Italy, followed by spending time studying prayer in India and finally finds love in Bali. The concept behind the film — one of traveling and self-discovery — actually makes it particularly effective as a tie-in with a location-based mobile app. In order to promote the overall themes of the film, SCVNGR has created different challenges that capture some of the experiences from the film in 26 cities across the United States

Meanwhile, Sprint's still sitting in the corner all alone, expecting folks to slap down cash money (up to $100) for these handsets' original incarnations. If you've been considering these devices already, it seems that now's the time to choose...

How Social Media is Helping Veterans Connect

Today, the United States reflects on the 60th anniversary of the Korean War. For those who fought in the conflict and returned home, staying in touch with fellow service members was a battle in itself; many lost contact with their friends. Those who managed to find each other did so using resources and technologies now considered obsolete: Phone books, microfiche, and even old-fashioned letter writing. Today, e-mail and other social media tools are the primary methods of communication for almost anyone who owns a computer.

This Innovation Series is supported by Lexus . Let’s be honest, shopping isn’t always as fun as it should be. Between long lines, irate shoppers, communal fitting rooms (I’m looking at you Loehmann’s), distracted cashiers (I’m sorry, don’t let my purchase interrupt your texting), and simply having to part with your cold hard cash, it can be exhausting.
