Unitasking in a sandbox: Windows Phone 7 Series’ philosophy
Windows Mobile 6.x can multitask, and it can run applications written in native code. Windows Phone 7 Series can do neither of these things. The reasons are not philosophical, however: Microsoft has no problem with either concept per se . They're practical. The hardware is powerful enough

Nexus One Coming Soon to Sprint
The Nexus One carrier rollout continues! Sprint has announced that the flagship Android phone will be coming to its network “soon.” This comes just one day after a new version of the Nexus One, compatible with AT&T and Rogers 3G networks , was made available from Google’s online store. Sales of the Nexus One have been lackluster , something we attribute in part to carrier limitations. In addition to Rogers and AT&T, the Nexus One is also expected to hit the Verizon network later this spring. Sprint didn’t offer any details on the price or availability date of the phone, only noting: “While a pricing plan has not yet been determined for Nexus One, we are confident that it will be consistent with Sprint’s commitment to deliver more value than our competitors and keep pricing simple.” Currently only T-Mobile offers the Nexus One at a subsidized rate.

Blockbuster OnDemand Coming to Windows Mobile Classic and Android
On March 24, T-Mobile will be releasing the HTC HD2 Windows Mobile smartphone. While this phone will not be upgradeable to Windows Phone 7 Series , it will be the first mobile phone that will feature the Blockbuster OnDemand service. ReadWriteWeb also reports that Blockbuster is planning on bringing OnDemand to the Android platform as well, for use on “select Motorola phones.” Blockbuster OnDemand is basically like Amazon Unbox (the download version).

AT&T Intros Eco-Friendly Phone Charger
AT&T is offering folks the chance to be a small part of a big difference as it announces the launch of the ZERO Charger for phones. When you leave your mobile phone charger plugged in when its not actually juicing up a handset, you waste electricity – some estimates see the overall power suck from such scenarios as enough to power 24,000 homes for a year. That’s where AT&T ZERO charger comes in — it works by automatically sensing when a cell phone is not plugged in and cutting the power supply from the wall socket.

Unlocked Nexus One Comes to AT&T and Rogers
Today, Google announced that it is now selling a new version of the unlocked Nexus One that will work on AT&T and Rogers Wireless in 3G. Earlier today, we discussed the lackluster sales of Google’s Nexus One smartphone . One of the reasons we think sales are below expectations is that the phone was previously only available on one 3G carrier in the U.S. and Canada.

“Titanic” to Return to Theaters in 3D
Jeffrey Katzenberg was right: 3D is the future of movies . USA Today interviewed Avatar director James Cameron about this new era of filmmaking, and the director revealed plans to bring a certain unsinkable hit back to theaters in 2012, this time in 3D: Titanic. Because of the success of Avatar — and now Alice in Wonderland — studios are scrambling to release as many big titles in 3D as possible. Thanks to computer technology, 3D effects can be added to films shot without the use of 3D-specific cameras like Cameron used for Avatar . This includes Warner Bros.’s upcoming Clash of the Titans, a film that was not shot in 3D, but is being converted to 3D over an eight-week period in hopes of capturing more attention (and higher ticket sales) at the box office.
