Firefox 4 Beta 2 Adds More Languages and App Tabs
Firefox 4 beta 1 was released earlier this month, and today the next version has become available — this time with support for 23 more languages. The latest Firefox 4 beta also features tabs on top for Mac OS X users (the last version was for Windows users only) and a new feature called App Tabs. App tabs can be created for your most accessed sites, and are designed to save space by only displaying the favicon (instead of the entire tab with its title description). You can create an app tab for any site by right-clicking on the tab and selecting “create App Tab.” This is a really nice little feature and can certainly clean up overly full browser windows

Testing Suites Show Firefox 4 Not Quite Caught Up in Speed [Performance Tests]
We ran our own Mac-based performance tests last week with Firefox's pre-beta release candidate, and found Firefox 4 an improvement, but not quite catching up to other browsers in raw speed. Web Worker Daily did its own MacBook Pro tests , and found that Firefox 4 was, at best, on par with Opera 10.6 on Mozilla's Dromaeo testing suite (they ran the combined "Recommended Tests," whereas we broke the results into JavaScript and CSS). Pure speed isn't everything, of course, and the new Firefox has a lot to recommend . Have you found Firefox 4 to be faster, or comparable to other browsers

Opera 10.6: 10 Strong Reasons To Switch Over To Opera
Opera has always been ahead of the browser curve. It was the first browser to introduce the startpage-like new tabs, a feature it calls Speed Dial. Despite all that Opera has to offer, it is not the first browser preference of many computer users.

Is Google Chrome Usage Soaring at Firefox’s Expense? [STATS]
Google Chrome continues to gain browser marketshare , edging past Apple’s Safari in the U.S. and, apparently, also taking some users from Mozilla’s Firefox. The latest browser statistics from StatCounter align with reports we’ve seen from other analysts, including Net Applications , which first indicated that Chrome had become the number three browser globally back in December 2009. However, this new report shows that Chrome has jumped ahead in the U.S. as well
